Ladybugs are fascinating insects. Everyone loves ladybugs. They are fascinating to watch and also helpful in the garden. There are lots of interesting facts and fun things to learn about ladybugs. This series of three lessons on ladybugs will integrate the subjects of science, art, language arts, math and social studies while teaching the student about ladybugs.
This unit on ladybugs is designed for a class of third and fourth grade English language learners. English skills and vocabluary will be introduced and practiced thematically in the content area. The overall goal of this unit is for students to learn about the insect the ladybug and how it contributes to the environment while improving English language skills.
Unit Assessment-Students will create a ladybug book detailing the facts, lifecycle, diet, and habitats of the ladybug. The book will be assessed with the ladybug book rubric.
